Everyone bears fruit. What is yours? Prayer,
Fear, Anxiety, Worry, heartache, contentment, discontentment...
The fruit of a life of faith in God is: Prayer,
Trust, Contentment and the fruits of the spirit listed in Galatians
5:22-23.
Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV) But the fruit of the
Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
[23] gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
We need to pursue God... and the fruit will be
a natural result!

In scripture God calls himself by more than 250
names. How we view God determines how we live!
How do you view God?
Who is God?
Master
Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord's, and
everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
The Lord is the Creator of all things and he
has never transferred the ownership of His creation to His people.
[Colossians 1:17 – He is before all things, and in him all things hold
together.]
What we are in control of is our reaction
to what happens in our day!
What we tend to do is try and control the
things we can’t and not control the things we can.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12 Yours is the mighty power
and glory and victory and majesty. Everything in the heavens and earth
is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as being in
control of everything. [12] Riches and honor come from you alone,
and you are the Ruler of all mankind; your hand controls power and
might, and it is at your discretion that men are made great and given
strength.
Isaiah 45:6b-7 I am the Lord, and there is no
other. [7] I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and
create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.
Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all
things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are
called according to His purpose.
Why is God in Control?
To accomplish His intentions
Genesis 45:5-10; Genesis 50:20
We don’t know the end of the story! Remember
that God loves you and always wants what is best for you. Stand firm
until you see the end of YOUR story.
To develop our character
Romans 5:3-4 Our character is what we’ll be taking to heaven– develop
it!
To discipline His children
Hebrews 12:6-11 Think long-term and begin seeing what God is doing in
you!
We need to seek God not stuff! Society says:
What I possess I own, and I control my destiny.
God says: What I possess, God owns. He is the
sovereign, living God who controls all events.
Are you trusting in yourself– or are you
trusting in God?
How is that determined? Look at the fruit
you’re producing.
If you trust in yourself there is no need to
pray. And you’ll have fruit like anxiety, worry, fear, condemnation,
guilt, unforgiveness...
If you trust in God you have to pray! And
you’ll begin seeing the fruit of the spirit!
Who do you trust? You or God?
Everyone bears fruit. What is yours? love, joy,
peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
self-control or discontentment, Fear, Anxiety, Worry, heartache,
condemnation, guilt, unforgiveness...?
